honestly the various internal Wii channel musics were just... really good?
I'm glad they'll live on forever even as memes.
@Nine it's like someone say down and asked Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo what they wanted to use for their background noise, Sony and Microsoft just said "Maybe some waves or something, idk" and Nintendo said "We'll need an orchestra and a blessing from god herself."
@Ivafakename right?? If nothing else, the Wii was amazing just for the menus and channels, which weren't even originally on the console either
@Nine yeah, the wii was a great console that was unfortunately just a little ahead of it's time, like, if nintendo just waited a little longer they'd of had great motion controls and stuff, if it weren't for that the wii would have been the greatest console of all time.
To be fair none of the other companies had good motion controls though, they just had, y'know, regular controls...
@Ivafakename The Wii was also amazing for lightgun games which had previously been sorely lacking in home representation due to its sensor bar. There were a fair degree of really great games for the Wii too. Shame the WiiU felt like such a stop-gap measure, like it was halfway between a console and a handheld, but like the handheld bit was just... tacked on and not well implemented, especially with the lack of the dedicated wiimote type thing. The Switch does what the WiiU does way better mind.
@Nine the Wii u menu music is underrated imho
@Nine ooh!
That’s one bit of music that’s really stuck in my head even though I barely used a Wii. It was just good.
like t he Wii menu music was this... really lovely tinkling, ambient, relaxing tune. It's super pleasant to listen to like raindrops falling onto little musical sensor things.
