Honestly, I'm on SSRIs (Sertraline) and I got lucky that this helps a lot and it's been remarkably good for me, but just the medication on its own isn't all that helped. I learned some various tools in therapy sessions I could use that help a lot, and I have the support of my partner too. Everyone is different though, and sometimes it's either just the medicaiton, or just the therapy and mental tool-kit that help.

@enbyss@hellsite.site It absolutely IS worth talking to the doctor though in the first place, as they can put you in touch with people who will be better able to figure out which particular tools or medications etc that will help you the most.

Also be aware I was super, SUPER lucky that the Sertraline worked without any unpleasant side effects for me, because I know full well other people have had bad experiences with it.
