if capitalism is so good why did communists beat private enterprise to crewed spaceflight by 59 years
@noiob (also their Soyuz rocket was vastly superior to the Saturn 5s and is actually still used today over the Saturn 5s by NASA eat a diiiick capitalism :D )

@joshua @noiob I mean, granted, the current NASA space shuttles are like the biggest waste of goddamn money ever too and for every single one they send up they could have sent up like... what... five or six Soyez rockets instead? In the same period of time between launches? like, holy goddamn fuck.
and the reason the space shuttle is such a garbage fire is, once again "oh we want this to make more money so make it do everything at once so we can do it cheaper"

the US decided to use the CHEAPEST shuttle design that was pitched in 70-72
