@MochiWaifu oh eek that's... yeah D: is it a normal harddrive or is it an SSD?
@Nine SSD that i bought a year, maybe two ago :)
@MochiWaifu oh eep that's a lotta rapid degradation yikes D: what brand was it by any chance if you remember? Just so I can look into it to see if I should avoid them in which case D:
@Nine it's a crucial MX 500
i know why it's "degrading" so fast though
the small 250GB one is rated for 100TB writes, and i'm already at 30TB in like nearly 2 years.
so it's ... kind of windows fault?
because my old main boot drive only has 41TB writes and i used it for like 5 years or more
@MochiWaifu *blinkblink*... glances at own pc with SSD as a boot drive with windows 10 pro. c__c;;;
......heck.
@MochiWaifu * C_C;;;;s as they look at what actual SSD it is and they have the EXACT SAME ONE YOU DO*
@MochiWaifu i mean granted I've got a 500gb one not a 250 gb one but... meep. I haven't had it much longer than you did by the looks of things
@Nine i've got another one of these but in 1TB and in m.2 form factor and that one's still at 97% health even though it's a bit older, only use it for games and 3d and code projects though :D
@MochiWaifu oh dang m.2 drives are kinda a trip I first experienced one building this mini-ITX vr pc (that the psu recently exploded on and we're waiting for a replacement ;w; ) and WOW I was not prepped for how TINY those things are. they're pretty awesome tho!
@Nine yeah they're cute!
and way easier to install, no cables everywhere >w>
too bad my mobo only has one slot ;;
@MochiWaifu heck the itx one has two but that makes sense because it's a Mini-ITX board so it's unlikely to be in a case with room for a conventional drive e_e; I'm not sure I feel super comfy having TWO m.2s in there though because of how they install feels REALLY WEIRD and like... its at risk of breaking it XD
@MochiWaifu tough li'l cuties, m.2 are :D
