spaghetti: your basic noodle
linguini: spaghetti but /E X T R A/
lasagne: linguini but relaxed
macaroni: what's left after spaghetti is punched out of the raw pasta shape.
ravioli: pasta that heard about cornish pasties and is really upset that it couldn't be that awesome so is trying way too hard, seriously ravioli just stop, okay? stop it. you're fooling nobody.
cannelloni: lasagna that's really into snugglepiles.

Penne: macaroni with a degree in fashion design
Fusili: penne with a degree in structural engineering
Fettucini: Linguini's sibling. got all the looks but hardly any substance. still valid tho. Linguini would die for them, even tho Fettucini is a jerk to them sometimes.
Tortellini: oh COME ON, we KNOW it's you Ravioli, this is just sad, now.
Tagliatelle: Linguini and Fettucini's very anxious other sibling.

Farfalle: Black Tie Formal Event pasta
Vermicelli: Spaghetti after reading too much about String Theory.

@Nine People often mix up fusilli and rotini, for some reason; they're not similar pastas at all.

@Felthry it looks kinda just like a slightly more tightly spiralled fusili according to Google images but eh I was just going off the look of them as quick as I could for giggles. I am in no way a pasta expert ^^;;

@Nine oh what I thought was rotini is apparently actually either fusilli bucati or cavatappi which is nothing like rotini
