re: Need Pc building advice :boost_requested:

@gulfie your MAIN Bottlenecks however, will be that DDR3 ram, which, you know, 4gig isn't a whole lot to work with ._.;
your CPU is still pretty great, but your next upgrade absolutely should be a new mobo/processor and ram combo, DDR4 and PCI-e 4.0 at least. Ryzen 5 is a fair magnitude faster than the i7 4770k, which is only SLIGHTLY faster than the stock 4770.

re: Need Pc building advice :boost_requested:

@gulfie So yeah, if you haven't the money to do what is basically an entire new system, then upgrading the ram to as fast as you can, and more of it, for your mobo, as well as the 3060ti, will improve things quite a bit, but until you get a newer mobo/cpu and ddr4 ram, you're always gonna struggle with getting ultra settings outta things.

re: Need Pc building advice :boost_requested:

@Nine yeah I am gonna order some more RAM immediately bc yeah it's kinda sad, fortunately I have 2 spare slots so I can add 2x8 no problem. I didn't even know PCIe4 was out 😳. But yeah I'm cool with not being on the highest settings all the time, as long as I can actually play the games I'll be pretty happy tbh

re: Need Pc building advice :boost_requested:

@gulfie Oh yeah! Honestly, once you whack some good ram in and get at least 16gb in there (I'd go as fast as possible for those ram, if your mobo can support it out of the box, def go for 3000mhz ram at least! Point, actually, if you know your mobo model number - CPU-Z can help in this - it's easy enough to find what ram it'll support!), you'll see a marked increase in performance.
