reminder that through basically all of recorded history there are records of humans living just as long as they do now, and the life expectancy figure being something like 30 was always just because of higher rates of infant mortality, bringing down the average age of death

the idea that there was ever a time period where it was normal to die at around age 30 is just a misinterpretation of what the life expectancy statistic means
