Apparently accidentally leaving one monitor's VGA connection slightly loose can produce results almost identical to having misconfigured graphics drivers on linux
resulting in an afternoon-long headache involving multiple hours of combing through log files and package manager history
just to find out it was all because you didn't screw a fucking VGA connector all the way in
@woob whenever I didn't plug it in all the way I remember a color channel being knocked out, turning all the white a bright magenta or cyan or whatever.
