I'm actually unsure there's much of a flavor difference from normal but it sure didn't hurt it! It really shines when I make tortilla pizzas or pizza bagels so I was curious about it in a real pizza.

@NovaSquirrel Some pizzas use just plain pesto for the sauce, too, without any tomato.
