Coo. Just heard a friend's got a laserdisc player that can apparently also play Sega Genesis games. =:D

@porsupah I just saw a review / restoration of one of those!

Apparently the capacitors in the Pioneer LaserActive were notoriously bad, but they were able to get it working like new by replacing over 120 caps and a couple of drive belts.

Check the third link for a review of I Will: A Story of London, an absolutely horrible laserdisc MegaDrive exclusive game.

@Mycroft @porsupah Yeah, I have one with probably the same problem but the Sega Genesis cart works fine and plays games. It's a neat bit of gear but pretty mediocre laserdisc player and genesis gaming console, and don't thing much Sega gaming content was releasaed on laserdisc format :)

@Rabit @Mycroft Wow. Where did you manage find that? Well, if there are some rainy days, maybe you can go on a capacitor-replacing spree, even if only out of principle. =:)
