Handiest new FOSS tool I've found in quite a while, it can identify content & filetype of files by signatures, which are defined in a scripting language. So it turns out that the "ventilators" that Musk was bragging about donating to hospitals (and his fanboys were praising far and wide) turn out to be surplus CPAP machines. Which, if adapted by already overworked hospital staff who probably don't have the parts anyway, can INCREASE the spread of infection.

I'll say it again, every single thing he's done has been a publicity stunt to make him look heroic. Every god damn thing.

Mind blown. Experimenting with NVIDIA's HEVC encoder params with most challenging 8k video on YouTube I can find. 2 frames of "Japan Night Aerials in 8K" encoded crf=28 lookahead 32 frames at 5Mb/sec. That's 1/2 DVD bitrate with 100x res. No noticeable detail loss!

Late night messing about on the iPad using Beatmaker3 & LayR synth. Beatmaker3 is nearly FL Studio for iPad while LayR seems to have nothing that comes close.
