Death of a Trans Youth, Transphobic practices
I know my audience here but in the aftermath of the murder of Brianna Ghey, and how the media are treating it,let's get a few things straight:
My name is Autumn Raine Pengelly.
Now is that my legal name? Unless you're a friend, none of your business
Should newspapers be looking through my medical records to find my deadname?
No.That's unethical as fuck yet that's what they've done to Brianna
Should people be remembered in line with their identity?
Yes,and yet the fucked up Transphobic system means if you don't have a Gender Recognition Certificate, you're getting misgendered ,even on your death certificate. And yet its made fucking impossible to get a GRC, because of all the fear mongering about Trans People.
A 16 year old Trans girl lost her fucking life and yet Gender Criticals are saying it's not a hate crime yet they've contributed to the rise in Anti-Trans sentiment and they really are unwilling to see themselves as the problem.
And as always, there's people misgendering Brianna i.e "that's a man in makeup"... you know personally I not only find that take horrific, but how can you honestly look at a Trans Person being happy, presenting how they want to ,and you decide "I don't like this, this is wrong"
Honestly fuck everything you stand for.
My brother said that i was pretentious for my room makeover, the Trans Flag walls....but no...i will never apologise for taking pride in my identity and i will certainly never apologise for taking off the mask of (Deadname) and choosing to continue life as Autumn.
I will protect my Trans Family with my life if i have to.
Once again, down with the Gender Critical Scum (because they are scum) #TransRightsAreHumanRights

Unasked for and beside-the-point feedback, but:
"My brother said that i was pretentious for my room makeover, the Trans Flag walls"
Sort of a shit thing for your brother to say. You be you, however you want.
