You'd want to get an EE involved (Electrical Engineer). There are several things you'd have to take into account. When you're done, it could all be assembled on a single PCB, in a kit box. Try hooking up with someone on a hobbyist website, something devoted to different uses of a Raspberry. I'm sure someone would be interested to lend a hand. It's a cool idea for a stand-alone controller.
