Oof, didn't expect the potential closure of the @TexasObserver to be one of the first things I'm posting about! Many of you have probably seen by now that our board voted quite suddenly a couple days ago to close the publication and lay everyone off. The staff is holding an emergency fundraiser to convince the board otherwise! We have raised $150k in less than 24 hours, and are hopeful.
