I’ve read a lot about the re-emergence of Tulare Lake in Southern #California due to our incredible rains.

But this was new to me: “This vast aquatic ecosystem was paradise to the people who lived there for thousands of years, but it disappeared in a geologic blink of an eye following the arrival of Euro-Americans into California.”

The lake has re-emerged a number of times, “following the motto that ‘You Can’t Keep a Good Lake Down.’”

I'd never heard of it, either, but apparently there are two a*****e families that own most of the lake bottom, and they've turned it into orchards. They're getting ready to sue to get their land back.
I say eminent domain the whole thing, and restore the lake as a water reserve.
