1948 Chrysler New Yorker barn find, complete with suicide doors, in (nearly) immaculate shape.
We’re gutting the straight-8, swapping in a dual-motor electric drivetrain and lithium battery bank, upgrading the steering and suspension, and restoring all the details.
This project is the brainchild of one of my oldest friends, who is truly a maniac and has a track record of pulling off things like this.
He’s starting a business electrifying classics, and this is going to be his flagship.
The old geezer who had this in a barn since 1978 delivered it to our workshop this morning with a few of his hotrod cronies.

I've dreamed of a 1970 Chevy El Camino, modded to be electric, with the battery pack under the cargo floor of the bed. Total stock look, total sleeper.
The weight of the battery pack over the drive wheels should make it stand up and bark.
