When LED light bulbs started becoming more commercially available a few years back I remember being really excited, not just by their efficiency and savings, but by the longevity their manufacturers claimed. 10 years! Wow! That helped justify the initial expense.

Fast forward to today and I don’t think I’ve owned one that’s lasted longer than their incandescent counterparts. I’ve only had Cree and Philips, but they’ve all died in about 3 years’ time. Feels a bit like hook, like & sinker.

I'm wondering if your house gets surges/spikes coming in on the power lines? I have dozens (literally, 50+ of them in my house) and only one has failed in the last 10 years. It stopped responding to control signals to turn on or off.

@ScottSoCal we don’t typically get those where we live. Our weather is so moderate that we don’t even get thunderstorms really and most of our power comes from hydro. I dunno, maybe I just got some bad ones.
