Has anyone ever told my #ActuallyAutistic comrades that they weren’t “smart enough” or “focused enough” for school, college, or work? You aren’t alone.

I was always told I "wasn't living up to my potential". School gave everyone an IQ test, and after that people were pigeon-holed according to the number they were assigned by a test they took once. My number happened to be high, but others were low.
What if they were tired? Stressed? Dealing with personal issues? Not interested in taking your stupid test?

Bad Take, Sarcasm

@ScottSoCal

Well at least for the last group you might say they aren't wanted by the system designing and based on the tests anyway

@ScottSoCal @theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic @actuallyautistics I got a high number on a test designed to measure G, or general intelligence, a thing that you can basically use math to demonstrate does not exist. Anytime in school I had any struggles, which was a lot as an undiagnosed autistic kid, I would go to the special teacher they had for kids who got high numbers and she would tell me that I can't actually be struggling the way I said I am, because I got a high number on a test that measures something that doesn't exist.

It was awesome
