I don't know if this is a trauma thing, or an autism thing, but as I've gotten older (and it's harder to pretend) tears are a lot closer to the surface than they used to be. Sad tears, happy tears, overwhelmed tears. They just pop up, out of nowhere, and I'm left with red eyes and a runny nose.

@ScottSoCal @actuallyautistic same (ADHD, mom). Kids are watching a movie, I'm cooking dinner. I've got time for a break, movie is halfway so I've missed most of it, it's a kid's movie. I'm crying within ten minutes. I don't know, it doesn't really feel bad. A bit silly, but not bad. I don't suppress as much anymore I think
