Friends, sorry (my English is still beginner-level) but, I'm trying. Well, what's the persistent trouble that hinders you the most in your daily life? In my case, it's problems with sensory stimuli. For example, sounds. It causes me a lot of anxiety too and makes my case of high blood sugar worse (I have type 2 diabetes). Medicines don't help me..only physical exercises

@lobocode @actuallyautistic I am #autistic and type 2 diabetic. I didnโ€™t know anxiety causes high blood sugar. Might explain a lotโ€ฆ
Co-occurring conditions with autism need to be researched especially as I have poor interoception.

@MarmadukeCWest @actuallyautistic Working out isn't just about getting your blood sugar in check. It can also help relieve anxiety. When your body recovers from the physical stress of exercise (preferably high-intensity), it can help you manage anxiety and focus better. Try doing functional activities (like CrossFit) or short runs, jumping rope, or anything that gets you breathing hard and sweating. ++

I've had good luck with walking. Granted, my pace is faster than most people walk (4 miles per hour), but that's just how I walk. At the end of an hour I've worked up a good sweat, and I'm totally relaxed. A couple of those a day does it for me.

@ScottSoCal @lobocode @actuallyautistic Walking may be better for me as arthritisโ€ฆ must try to increase speed.

Find the right shoes. When I started walking I wore my regular shoes, and they hurt me, especially my joints. I started getting good shoes, with very cushiony soles, and it was immediately better.
