My dentist uses more topical anesthetic on me than on most of her patients (according to her), but I've found my experience varies, depending on whether I'm focusing on what's happening in my mouth, or if I've gone somewhere else in my head. If I'm somewhere else, I don't feel anything. If I'm focusing on what's happening in my mouth, I can feel all of it.
I make it a rule to go somewhere else.
@ScottSoCal @ahrimans_erbe @actuallyautistic I need a higher dose, takes longer to be effective (sorta) on me, but wears off sooooooo slowly afterwards. bonus on Halloween, half of your face being frozen can be a fun add on to a scary make up.
