Android users: I need a launcher that lets me have a homescreen that isn't covered in apps, has a folder-based menu, and let's me put lots of functionality in one place. It shouldn't want to install random junk software on my phone, hit me with your best suggestions.
Gestures mappable to app and launcher functions a bonus, basically I want Go Launcher but not invasive garbage.
trying out a couple of the launchers that don't have "BEST LAUNCHER EMOJI 2018 IPHONE DESKTOP BEST ANIMATION" types.
It seems that between me starting to use Go Launcher in like, 2013 and now, everyone else dropped the Folders In App Menu idea and now app menus are just big alphabetical lists of every app you have installed with a search button.
I do not want to type on my phone. I understand why everyone just keeps their apps in home screen folders now.
@kalium_puceon Nova Launcher supports (optional) folders in the paid version at least... or do you mean something else entirely?
@kalium_puceon I don't know about the overlay thingy, but Nova Launcher DEFINITELY has folders in the drawer.
I make use of them myself, and afair was the feature I bought the premium version for 🤔
@kalium_puceon Yes, you an adult
No idea how much that is in Eurobucks, I hope it's not breaking the bank!
@Tobi it's about two large fast-food pizzas so it's a good deal for something I'll use every single day
@kalium_puceon Hm, either pizza is a lot cheaper where you are, or the currency exchange rate is screwing you over...
@Tobi four and some change euros?
@kalium_puceon That's some dang cheap pizza!
@Tobi now that I think about it that number is probably closer to 6 euro because I last did that calculation when the Rand took a nosedive, but I get the feeling that that's still a lot less than strong currencies pay for food.
@kalium_puceon I had a normal-sized fast-food pizza this week for 7 Euros.
The cheapest takeout you can get here is probably ~4-5 Euros for a Doner Kebab...
Of course, prices vary from city to city and state to state.
@Tobi huh, that's just about exactly what the big mac index would predict too. Double the value if you spend a euro here than in europe.
@kalium_puceon Neat!
@kalium_puceon I feel like we did have pretty steep inflation (especially in food prices!) in the last 20 years or so.
I remember, less than 30 years ago, a scoop of ice cream was 50 Pf (~25 Eurocents), today it's more like 1.50 Euros.
I'm no economist... is it normal for prices to double every 10 years?
@kalium_puceon Wait, I'm bad at math!
@Tobi I might do that, it does come in at a, uh, pretty nice price, if I, an adult, so perhaps say so myself.
