In German we call them "bulls", presumable because it sounds similar to "pol(ice)".
Though that was considered an insult, it has apparently been reclaimed. There are cop shows on TV with it in the title now.
So now people add "pigs" to that to make it clear they mean it in a bad way...

I remember, until a few years ago - when cops used to wear green, some people called them "chives": Found in bunches, green on the outside, empty on the inside.
