@kalium Trebuchet MS is the sensible blouse of fonts. It is unexciting and inoffensive and only weird people have strong opinions about it. It is almost definitely my favourite UI font. It's readable. It's distinctive. It's one of the handful of common core fonts that's dyslexia-friendly.
It was designed by the guy who made Comic Sans and he put a huge amount of work into making fonts that were really good at A Thing, it seems.
@Tobi @kalium the comic sans guy gives talks these days as far as I know. Most of the font designers I see online seem to be text-focussed graphic designers in general. The existence of the Wikipedia List of Type Designers doesn't exactly bode well for the job market of the field.
