Ironically, v1.99 gets stuck in a redirect loop when trying to load Wikipedia.

Oh, that's why it gets stuck in a loop. The server redirects HTTP to HTTPS, and by default v1.99 responds by using HTTP instead. After turning it off, it's at least not looping forever anymore.
