a component of my old computer is *spewing* electromagnetic interference to the point there's quite a bad effect on the sound card

@azushark Oof, definitely sounds like CPU interference. Have you tried turning on Spread Spectrum in the BIOS?

@Saxxon also the interference is present even when the computer is switched off
it only goes away once it's unplugged
@azushark Oh wow, that's wild! Yeah, wonder if you're right then, recapping the board might be the way to go.

My Iwill KK266+ had bad caps when it arrived to me, *sealed*. The capacitor plague is unforgiving..
i suppose I'll have to recap things eventually
