@maloki @squirrel the issue is is like
sure, RCs will have bugs, but also like if people stayed behind
1. the people on old instances would probably wonder why other people on other instances are getting new features and complain
2. these bugs would probably never get reported and make it into a full release
3. literally everyone posting about updating makes it seem like updating is just sorta Imperative For An Admin To Do

@squirrel @boots that totally makes sense. This will kinda get solved when admins can post updates only to their server, not the entire fediverse.
Right now It's just that overwhelming feeling of "y u update if you going to just yell complaints into the void where I may or may not catch it"
Also, I'm super tired and grumpy, and shouldn't have replied, so don't mind me! 😂

@maloki @squirrel because we want to have features
that is why

bam

@squirrel @boots except that doesn't actually answer what I said. But sure. You can bam all you want.

I guess I would just prefer constructive feedback instead of "Omg why does every update break shit".

I think we'd all benefit from it in the long run.

@maloki @squirrel i'm not seeing how squirrel posting about an issue they're having isn't constructive feedback

@maloki a post can be both constructive feedback and annoyance with the general state of things

@boots you're not wrong.

Unfortunately ending with a comment like that puts a very negative spin on it, like we are intentionally trying to make things shittier just to annoy people, which I hope everyone know isn't the case.

And yeah, I know it's part of the job to "deal with it", but today I just didn't have the energy.

@maloki i don't think either side had the energy today. truce?

@boots definitely!
Cake time!

I know very well to not do work related stuff when this exhausted. I just kinda missed working... 3 day mega crunch of that damn thesis... Phew
