Pro-trans poster but mentions transphobic things
@Li sadly, cis women are regularly denied such care
it's very, very easy for cis men to get treatment for gynecomastia though
re: Pro-trans poster but mentions transphobic things
@deilann @Li ye, I was going to say being intersex isn't some privilege, above perisex trans people. We are rejected the care we want and forced to have things done we don't. I think it also is good to remind that a lot of the modern perisex transgender care was and is tested unwilling on intersex people and children.
re: Pro-trans poster but mentions transphobic things
@Li @deilann that's a highly generous take. Idk it seems like this poster doesn't understand intersex issues and just doesn't take them into account. If someone is generally a perisex presenting female but at puberty starts growing a beard and a lower voice that would make them intersex. And this poster implies that they would get correct care, which is false. It is a guilt by omission sorta thing. Why show intersex people having it better?
re: Pro-trans poster but mentions transphobic things
on the first page
"If a boy who is cisgender develops breasts (gynecomastia, an intersex condition) and if he is distressed by this, then he will be offered medical care. This is often in the form of liposuction to remove the unwanted breast tissue, and hormonal interventions if necessary. If a cisgender girl grows facial hair (hirsutism), and if she is distressed by this, then she will be offered medical care. This will often be permanent facial hair removal and hormonal interventions.
Transgender intersex people are likely to be restricted from receiving treatments under the same restrictions as other transgender people. Cisgender intersex people, such as boys with gynecomastia, will still receive treatment. Intersex people are also likely to be given treatments without their consent, which is also relevant and we will discuss further."
apparently, only *trans intersex* people get forced 'treatment' without consent,
re: Pro-trans poster but mentions transphobic things
@budsofstone @deilann also i'm wondering where all those people who protested the vaccine mandates here went, i thought the government forcing you to get medical treatment even if your not interested in it was an aggregious human rights violation worthy of protesting on the streets, and civil disobedience??
.. well? where are you? ..
re: Pro-trans poster but mentions transphobic things
@budsofstone @deilann im not sure actually, i suppose some intersex kids by, complete chance, might actually be fine with what their receiving,
