I'm low-key considering a digital detox experiment: specifically, not carrying an internet-connected smartphone around during the day.

Does anyone have experience with this? What was easy, what was hard? What were the surprises?

My motivation is twofold: mental health; and to test how realistic it is to remove captive tech from one's life.

@twilliability back in 2015 and before I didn't have a cell phone at all and then from 2015 to 2017 i had a flipphone. only thing I brought was an mp3 player cause I love music. its totally do able. I suggest on a day off just leave all connected devices at home and go explore where you live. its great, the worst thing thats might reasonably happen is u get a little lost and in that case just ask someone or go buy a map at a gas station.
