I've kept track of the first bird I've spotted every year since 2018.

When I peered out the window this morning, the vivid red color of a cardinal darting across the garden immediately caught my eye.

My first bird of 2023—Northern Cardinal—a nice addition to the list:

- 2019: Rock Dove
- 2020: Tufted Titmouse
- 2021: Tufted Titmouse
- 2022: Turkey Vulture
- 2023: Northern Cardinal
