@kara I think brain training could help overal
the concept is usually associated with apps, but imho anything that flexes your brain muscles could help
such as crosswords, sudoku, picross, word searches, puzzles, jumbles, etc as long as you're switching activities periodically
for events, I put them on a digital calender and then set reminders for weeks ahead, days head, and 12 hours ahead
for school I used a voice recorder as well as paper or digital notes so I have a backup
