I am that mom friend that sees the room is completely dark to say,
"At least have a couple of lamps on! You'll hurt you're eyes lookin' at the screen in darkness"

mostly because my own mom would say that very often to me
but also because it just feels sad? idk, you don't need to have the main lights on all the time, but like, a couple of lamps couldn't hurt?
@dragonmagic it does feel kinda sad to be in a dark room like that, I’ve definitely ended up in that position, looked up and been like, fuck this is depressing lol
