a long, slow induction is good shit, but there's also something to be said, especially in a supervillain context, for flashing a crystal, whispering a few choice words in an ear, and sending someone collapsing into your arms with a _Snap!_

You wouldn't necessarily do that to the hero, of course, but Mod, say, dispatching a couple mooks with a parasol hook, a few whispers, a Snap! and then letting herself in while they kiss

or the stage magician bit of talking to the whole audience and seeing who's suggestible, but to the captive audience at your bank robbery, sports stadium, or convention, and seeing who drops at that final finger snap
