@funkeh out of curiosity, why only one person per Pokemon?
yeah! then we could all show off our favorite Pokemons! 😄
(esp since I think a few people have submitted at the same time and between that and federation distribution racing, it's actually hard to *determine* a first chooser sometimes. might be easier as a link to a basic list, or a popup box with the first five listed, that leads to a longer basic list?)

While a "first five or so" system could be interesting in the future, I think the current goal is just to fill the whole thing up and so having it "one Pokemon per user" helps us achieve that much more easily! Could be something to think about later when it gets more full.
Perhaps there is an element of "distribution racing", but don't worry about claiming. In the end it's just a Mastodon Pokedex, it's not that big of a deal really lol. It's just some fun.

When I first checked out the Mastodex, I thought it was a collection of people by favorite Pokemon. However, if the goal is simply to claim 'em all, I think it's fine as is.
That said, there are plenty of formes and mega evolutions that can be added, as well as a number of Glitch Pokemon other than MissingNo.
Either way, it's a fun social game and now I (and others) know where some of the Pokemon people hang out here!
@qualitycats @InspectorCaracal @grace_in_name_only Formes and Mega Evolutions absolutely should be added, although it may take me some time to figure out the implementation! Glad you found some cool Pokemon people :)
@grace_in_name_only @funkeh I like the "first five listed with a link to the whole list" idea a lot! Especially if they're listed alphabetically by handle instead of attempting to do it in claim order.
(Personally, I'm in the position of not feeling comfortable claiming a pokemon, despite the one I would choose being free, because I don't want to "steal" the slot from someone who is more of a Pokemon fan than I am. 😅 )
