I was having kind of a bum day today, and then a student asked me some questions and I busted out some Serious Knowledge and it felt good
@dade Man I swear half of modern malaise is having expertise that you don't get to apply during your daily routine
@hellamander honestly this is the realest thing and I'm still thinking about it
@dade I just kind of blurted it out at the time, but in retrospect it is Pretty Real, and behind a lot of my recent work angst

@hellamander @dade This was definitely an aspect of suck from my last couple work years--- "i am here to solve problems using my technical expertise, please stop creating all these non-technical management problems that have to be solved first."

@jjwolverine @dade oy yes: I've spent too much of my time playing reformer and project manager because I can't put up with the sloppy practices that everyone else seems to think are fine
