y’all want a trans music pioneer who did it *after* voicing,

Wendy Carlos isn’t your woman, since most of her major works went down before her voicing as trans

1.8.7/Jordana LeSesne, a Black trans woman from Philly, meanwhile, pioneered jungle during the late ’90s and gave birth to so much of the club music which followed in the ’00s

@patience define "voicing" tho? Cos Carlos transitioned around the time Switched-On Bach first came out, but then proceeded to boymode in every public appearance for like ten years.

which is, I guess, an impressive commitment to the bit

@lambdagrrl doors which open when presenting to the cisnormative world as “boymode” are still unobstructed paths to achieving great things which are denied from others who do not exist in “boymode” in any way whatsoever

likewise: The Matrix, for the cinematic world, would never have happened had Lana and Lilly voiced before pitching it to Village/WB

which is why it’s really a big deal to lift up seldom-recognized trans pioneers like 1.8.7/Jordana for doing all of it *whilst* the dance scene knew her as a girl and as trans *AND* as Black
