@misty apparently the thing i was using to compress jpegs down to a target size only takes that size as kind of a suggestion and will sometimes throw in some extra bytes as a bonus

i had to knock like 50kb off the target & it seems to work that way

@lion yeah all the ones i've seen that target a size basically try it a couple of times at increasing compression rates until it's somewhat roughly that size
