trans hormonal question / testo vs. birth control

I'm looking for information about (micro dosing) testosterone in combination with hormonal birth control. specifically whether it it's harmful/dangerous in any way. I did not find anything in the web, but tbh I do not have any idea what to look for. the closest information was about testo and pregnancy. does anyone have ideas about this and can point me in a direction?

@maj I am on both, or was on both for two years before I stopped. I was on a microdose of testosterone and I have an IUD. My PCP warned it might make me have periods again,* but she didn't mention other harmful effects.
*IUD put a stop to those for me

Is this helpful? Or did you want to know specifically about lower dose T and birth control?

HRT, BC, menstruation

@maj Addition: I was offered the depot BC shot when I started T ("regular" dose aiming at cis male T levels), was told it could be used to more reliably stop menstruation right away. I opted out of it (turns out T didn't need any help in stopping menstruation for me anyway) but I don't think they would have offered it if they had viewed it as risky.

@krummi this is exactly what I needed ❤️ I was looking for information specifically about birth control pills (taken with no pauses). I'm not from the US so planned parenthood was not on my radar as a resource at all. thank you also for sharing your experience with the shots. afaik this is similar to the body hormone wise.

@maj Yeah, a lot of info is very US-centric, unfortunately (I've run into similar issues when trying to research trans-related questions sometimes since I'm not from there either).
Some resources can still be useful but I wish there was better and more accessible info for different countries/areas and in more languages than just english.

Glad the info was helpful for you either way!
