Relationships in general can be difficult for those with ADHD, but the realm of love is a different ball game!
ADHD people are fascinated by anything that is new, stimulating, or of a personal interest.
And a new relationship checks all those boxes.
i had to grow up being told "new relationship energy" is made up and just a front for my "abuse" by several of my exes who stopped at nothing to make me feel miserable about myself just because i hyperfocused on other people WHILE being completely honest and open about being poly
everybody replying to that thread demonizing the person who wrote it because they think it's saying ADHD is an excuse for cheating: get your disingenuous rhetoric out of my website. polyamory exists, and one of my relationships has been going strong for over 3 years now.
if YOU feel like lusting over someone other than your designated partner is cheating then that's a problem between you and monogamy. and yes, you CAN cheat while polyamorous, by hiding the truth and lying to your partners. it's supposed to be a mutual agreement on ALL parties
