Nintendo just announced a Pokemon Snap Printer (basically) bit.ly/3tH1r9i

Instax Mini Link, released in 2019, will now connect to your Nintendo Switch (via your smart phone) and instantly print photos

the only new product here is a phone app. this is a neat marketing ploy for fujifilm to push the instax link, but i still think it's silly to spend analog film with digital pictures (the instax film is similar to polaroid, and was initially made to be used with analog cameras)

that being said, i'm a faithful owner of an instax mini 70 camera and if this is what fujifilm needs to continue production of instax film, so be it. i just hope demand doesn't grow so much it becomes hard to find

here's a candid instax photo of me carrying my mom's elderly dog

however something that IS quite interesting to me is how, by all i knew about analog photography, i didn't think a screen had enough brightness to expose an image onto instant film. but that's exactly how "printers" like the link do it, in fact you can even do it with your phone!

and of course polaroid wants some of that action too because fujifilm has been eating their lunch for the past 15-20 years
