symbols of pride don't have to be commercially recognizable, groups and individuals can be insular in how they want to be represented. nobody makes the lesbian flag i want, so i need to sew my own if i want to hang it up my wall. and that's ok

i don't have a problem with people who want to use the sunset flag to display their lesbianness, but it wasn't made for me and i don't feel represented by it. that's ok, my pride needn't be your pride. happy #lesbianvisibilityday for all of us. 💜♥️💛💚
