i've been using the "thin" mode on this online converter, it seems to give me better results than any convoluted process i've tried manually in photoshop+illustrator (i then put the .png from that website in illustrator trace "techhnical drawing" mode) https://online.rapidresizer.com/photograph-to-pattern.php
