flash was good and anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong, the security stuff was steve jobs FUD that all the proto-facebook-techy types who never played a flash game in their lives bought into
"but flashpoint" flashpoint is a very good and nice attempt at preserving history but preserving history does not restore a killed culture. you can no longer get the flash authoring software and you can no longer make new flash games. flashpoint won't solve that
"what about google" google has done plenty to murder web standards and return us to a monopoly worse than 1998 microsoft's, but in terms of web *culture* most of what they killed was their own. facebook killed personal websites and apple killed plugins which enabled web games
