Ok, absolutely freaking riddle me this. We got some of these SMT resistors for a project a few months ago.

digikey.com/en/products/detail

Now I went back to the reel of them and started trying to use some, and they all appear to be open circuit! At first I thought it was just maybe that my test leads weren't making good contact but I just soldered a couple across stripboard and they're still open.

WTF happened??!!

@mavica_again I have never had this issue with through-hole, unfortunately the application pretty much requires small SMT parts. I'm so baffled right now.

So far it looks like maybe, oh, 5-10% of the resistors on the tape work.

@vxo smt components are shit!!! this post brought to you by through hole gang

yeah i got nothing i mean they're probably cheap enough that it's not like you can complain to anybody for a refund or something. manufacturing defect?

@mavica_again I'm thinking one of three things:
1) they somehow died of humidity after the bag was opened (this one makes very little sense though - it's humid enough in here that you eventually have to bake your PLA filament, but not enough that things corrode)
2) manufacturing defect (severe)
3) these are fake slugs
