@idlestate @NanoRaptor not all fediverse software (my instance included) supports edits, therefore it's very likely a good chunk of the fediverse won't see the updated post

@mavica_again Isn't the ability to edit posts one of Mastodon's "selling" points?
@trishalynn it wasn't introduced until like version 4 i believe
i've been here much longer than that and the glitchsoc computer fairies runs is currently based on 3.5.x i believe
@trishalynn Mastodon is one implementation of the activitypub specification
think of it like the Google Chrome of the fediverse, not all other fediverse instances are running it and there's some interop pains
"mastodon" in of itself isn't the network or even the only protocol in it, but it got a lot of press and VC money so it sounds like it is
