family got a new samsung tv with a "remote" that has almost no buttons because you're meant to use a phone app instead. phone app is 80mb and tells me my browser (firefox nightly) is unsupported to log into the samsung account to control this tv that's already in our living room. hey @internetofshit

@mavica_again I bought a different brand of tv, a small one, so I could use my Switch and a more ergonomic controller while being present in the same room as my wife while she watches her shows (k-dramas, Hallmark holiday romances, etc) and the remote uses mostly the same IR codes as the big TV in the room. 🤦

The little TV’s input button puts the big TV into some esoteric diagnositic mode.

And of course, both units only have one physical button that is used for power, input and menu selection via a Morse Code like pattern of long and short presses. The little TV does support HomeKit, so I “could” ask Siri to adjust.
