what should i do with a prototype chromebook cr-48 with a completely dead battery

Also, it's not in as good condition.

I did find the box, though. I was pretty enamored with the whole thing at the time--the fun packaging, the simple design, the idea that all your work was accessible from any machine--a machine with unbreakable software.
If I do find it, I'll try to remember to tell you?
