getting irrationally angry about how every "mac" "enthusiast" use a badly wrong-scaled version of the clarus dogcow icon enough that it is the one you find the most on the internet
@mavica_again Wait, why does Wikipedia even have it wrong?
@jsit looks like apple themselves got it wrong in 1991 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qc-8zQPwp20 that's probably where it started. but yeah, it's clearly a wrong nearest-neighbor rescale of the original
oh well nevermind. this is already well documented. yeah they just badly scaled clarus when they started using her in print preview http://clarus.chez-alice.fr/history.php
@mavica_again It’s a real hack job
@mavica_again @jsit I miss how XASTIR and other APRS clients used a dogcow for one of the status icons. Now most of them just use a Shiba Inu emoji. I think it was for /P
@mavica_again Please enjoy this archived Apple developer doc (which unfortunately also uses a bad pixel dogcow) https://web.archive.org/web/20040202021201/http://developer.apple.com/products/techsupport/dogcow/tn31.html
@mavica_again oh my god, it's worse than i could have imagined
