turns out thinkpad X61 LCD panels work on (some models of) the iBook G4
it's a good thing i kept the original panel from when i did an SXGA upgrade on my X61t (before, with vinegar syndrome, and after)

now i wanna find out if this means i can SXGA upgrade my iBook 
except... now i can't dim the brightness or use a resolution other than 1024x768
what a quirk!
