Happened upon this web-based MOD music player and now all I want to do is listen to and then screw around with remixing & making MODs all day
I still go back to thinking that MODs were my first taste of Open Source software, back before I even knew what that was. Get a MOD, like the MOD, open the MOD in your tracker and peep the patterns, rip the samples from the MOD, remix and remake the MOD yourself
I mean, the license wasn't there and some folks got ornery if you ripped their samples, but the hackability was there
My favorite thing was to hear a MOD tune and be like holy crap how'd they make that sound? View source and oh hey wow that's how they did it!
